Dear Families,

Mary Snow had an unexpected fire alarm tin the middle of the day due to an inadvertent pull. As a result, students and staff left their classrooms as protocol dictates and Bangor Fire responded. The building was deemed to be safe and learning resumed.

The safety and well-being of your child is our top priority. We will continue to keep you informed about important concerns at our school.

Thank you!
Principal Lord

Bangor School Garden Summer Volunteers Needed!

The Bangor School Department invites students, families, staff, and community members to become Bangor School Garden Summer Volunteers. Students plant and care for our school gardens during the school year, but we need community support during the critical summer growing months to help the gardens thrive. Volunteering is a wonderful opportunity for adults and children alike to spend time outdoors, connect with nature, learn about gardening and pollinators, harvest fresh produce, and help maintain vibrant outdoor learning spaces for students to return to in the fall.

Summer volunteers commit to caring for a school garden for a one-week interval (or more!) between June 22 and August 30. Volunteers are asked to visit the garden at least twice during their selected week(s) to help with watering and weeding. Some gardens may also offer produce to harvest and enjoy at home.

No prior gardening experience or volunteer training is required. Interested volunteers can sign up using the link below, where you will also find contact information for each School Garden Coordinator who can answer questions and provide additional guidance for each school garden.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the 4th grade classes of Miss Anderson and Ms. Green (scheduled for Tuesday) and Ms. Budden and Mrs. Albert (scheduled for Wednesday) will be unable to attend Field's Pond this week.

We are awaiting additional information regarding next steps for these classes, as well as for Thursday's scheduled classes with Mrs. Wilcox and Mrs. Brookings. We will provide an update as soon as more information becomes available.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
